A man accused of a fatal stabbing in the Hill District was held for trial Friday after a preliminary hearing in Pittsburgh Municipal Court.

Tyrone Taylor, 38, is accused of killing Marcel King, 40, during a brief argument on Jan. 15. District Judge Richard King ordered Taylor to stand trial on a charge of criminal homicide.

Taylor told police King confronted him outside in Elmore Square, Pittsburgh police Detective James McGee testified.

McGee testified that Taylor initially denied any involvement in the stabbing but later said he lunged at King with a knife after it looked as though King was reaching into his waistband for a weapon.
