Bethel Park police are searching for a suspect in an armed robbery outside the food court at South Hills Village mall Monday night.

The robbery was reported about 9:45 p.m. Monday, when two employees were leaving a restaurant at the food court and were approached by an unidentified suspect near the loading dock, said Detective Lance Mattes. The suspect displayed a black semi-automatic handgun and yanked one victim's purse from her shoulder.

The suspect was described as a black man in his early 20s, standing about 5 feet 5 inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing a dark-hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. Anyone with information is asked to call Bethel Park police at 412 833 2000.
