Swissvale officials ‘sleeping on job’

I read with much interest the article in the Nov. 10 paper reporting that close to $800,000 was stolen from the Borough of Swissvale, according to charges filed in court against the former borough manager.

Council members enabled this by signing blank checks.

Why did we elect them• So they could sleep on the job?

The elected auditor from 1986-99 never saw copies of payroll checks, but nontheless filed the report to the state. What did he report to the state• Thank goodness he's no longer our auditor. Oops! He's now our tax collector.

Let's wake up. These officials have to go.
