Tambellini's Restaurant on Route 51 in Bon Air will close June 30 and after extensive renovations reopen in September as Amici Ristorante.

The restaurant, which has been in business over 60 years, starting on Southern Avenue in Mt. Washington and later on Route 51, was purchased by Edward B. Dunlap and his wife, Anna, last September from the Tambellini family.

The new restaurant will be designed to look like a villa in Tuscanny, Italy. It will have a casual, family-friendly atmosphere, featuring Italian food in the Tuscan style, Dunlap said.

Dunlap, owner of LeMont Restaurant in Mt. Washington, also owns Cafe Euro restaurants in U.S. Steel Tower, Downtown, and at the former Colony Restaurant site in Scott. He also is the chairman of Centimark Corp., a major commercial roofing company based in Southpointe, Cecil Township, Washington County.
