WASHINGTON, Pa. - A McDonald man accused of sexually assaulting a 5-year-old Donora girl last month will stand trial.

Benjamin Taylor, 19, of 28 Jess Lane, McDonald, waived charges of statutory sexual assault to court in a preliminary hearing in Washington County Central Court Wednesday.

A school nurse in the Ringgold School District alerted Donora police because she suspected the child was sexually assaulted.

According to police, the alleged assault took place the night of Sept. 18, while Taylor was visiting the girl's mother at Highland Terrace.

Taylor was arrested Sept. 27 and placed in the Washington County Correctional Facility on $100,000 bond by Magisterial District Judge Mark Wilson.

Taylor is also facing charges of corruption of minors, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault on a child under the age of 13, and forcible compulsion. Prosecutors withdrew multiple indecent assault charges against Taylor.
