A veteran teacher’s career is in jeopardy after he was accused of giving his sophomore son answers to a New York state high school exam. Isben Jeudy, 40, pleaded not guilty to official misconduct Monday in Long Island, where prosecutors alleged he had given his son Jerrell, 16, at least 35 answers to a multiple-choice test on global history and geography. The answers were found written in ink on the youth’s hand by a test administrator last Tuesday, The New York Times said. The teenager does not attend the school his father teaches in, and was not charged. But if convicted, his father could face a year in jail. Uniondale school Superintendent Grishman told the newspaper if the charges against Jeudy are found to be true, he will be amazed. “He was a gentleman who should be up for superintendent in a few years — too bright to do something so stupid,” Grishman said of Jeudy. © Copyright 2005 by United Press International
