TechTarget of Needham, Mass., said Tuesday it has acquired Bitpipe Inc. of Boston, Mass., for $40 million in cash.
TechTarget is an information technology media company.
TechTarget said Bitpipe is a distributor of information technology white papers and as a result of the deal it will own a majority share of the market for the distribution of IT white papers.
Bitpipe was advised in the transaction by The Jordan, Edmiston Group Inc., a New York investment bank specializing in the media and information industries.
