A teenager suffered a gunshot wound to the stomach in Marshall-Shadeland about 7:15 p.m., according to police.

The 14-year-old boy, whose name was not released, was taken to Children's Hospital in stable condition.

The shooting occurred at a home in the 2900 block of Frederick Street.

Initial reports indicated that the boy was wounded after someone fired through the window of the home, but investigators could not find any evidence to support that claim, Lt. Daniel Herrmann said.
