More than a dozen players gathered at The Club in Monroeville on Saturday for the 36th annual UPMC McKeesport Invitational's 23rd annual tennis tournament.

UPMC doctors Mohammad Idrees and Andemeskel Tesfamariam were the co-chairs.

“In the good spirit of supporting the McKeesport Hospital Foundation and all it does for our hospital, this tournament is a way for the doctors to say ‘thank you' and do our part,” Idrees said.

Michele Dudek and Kathy Gwaley, who work for Idrees at UPMC, said McKeesport Hospital Foundation deserves a pat on the back for all it does to support programs and facilities.

“The foundation does wonderful things in the hospital,” Dudek said. “We do anything we can to help out.”

The weekend invitational continued at Youghiogheny Country Club in Elizabeth Township with a “New York State of Mind” fashion show and luncheon on Saturday, and a golf outing and banquet on Sunday.
