A Harrison City-based developer who bought property in the Woods of Brandywine housing plan says he has a tentative deal with Ryan Homes to build 83 single-family homes in Manor.

Kevin Braun's newly formed company, Brandywine Recovery LP, acquired the property in late February from AmeriServ Financial, which foreclosed on previous property owner Jana Development.

Braun, who also is president of Patriot Homes USA, said he has a pending deal with Ryan Homes to be the exclusive builder. Each home and property lot is projected to cost about $275,000, he said.

“We're just excited for Ryan Homes because they build a great product, and I think there are a lot of clients that want a quality-built home in the $275,000 range,” Braun said. “We anticipate there to be a waiting list of people to get in there.”

Construction on the first 13 homes along Brandywine Drive might begin later this spring because the lots are ready for building, Braun said.

Manor Councilwoman Dawn Lynn, who serves on the borough planning commission, said she is pleased that a developer will be starting work again in that housing plan. Residents frequently asked about the property's status, she said.

“It is a wonderful thing to see the property going forward,” Lynn said.
