Officials in Thailand, who say mistakes may have been made as they buried bodies after the tsunami, are exhuming bodies to identity foreigners. More then 5,300 bodies have been recovered in Thailand, but the Thais admit there was confusion in the initial aftermath of the tsumani Dec. 26 and rescue teams quickly ran out of refrigerated containers to store bodies, reported the BBC Monday. Officials decided to bury the bodies in the sandy trenches at Bang Muang temple after they had been divided visually as Thai or foreign. However, some relatives of foreign tourists suspect relatives might have been buried by mistake. The exhumed bodies at Bang Muang will be housed in refrigeration containers until they can be identified via DNA and released to relatives, officials said.
