Our family is blessed, to say the least.

The overwhelming display of love, generosity and genuine caring that we witnessed Nov. 15 at Eli Swierczewski’s spaghetti dinner benefit is unlike anything we have ever seen.

To merely say “Thank You” does not seem enough. Our family will never forget and will be forever changed by the thoughtfulness of so many.

Family members Robin Kalpakis, Vicki Kuczynski and my parents, Pat and Bernie Nowicki, put in so much time and energy over several months to plan this. The loving, selfless support of everyone in this community is the reason it was so successful. It makes our family prouder than ever to say that we were born and raised here and affirms the good decision to raise our family here, as well.

Special thanks to the many businesses that donated food, time and products to ensure the benefit’s success. We had family and friends come from New Hampshire, Buffalo and Erie and countless friends and family who came early and stayed late to set up, serve food, donate and clean. We thank you with our whole hearts!

To everyone who came to eat and support our family, thank you for enjoying that special night with us.

We had more than 40 basket donations, served more than 1,000 dinners and had many anonymous donations dropped off throughout the night. We also need to recognize Rich Strzesieski for organizing a golf outing this past August, which was also a very successful event in Eli’s honor.

As I said, it is hard to know where to start with our thanks and gratitude to each and every one of you, so we will begin where all things end — with faith, hope and love.

On behalf of Eli and the entire Swierczewski family, we appreciate and thank you!

Pam Swierczewski
