On behalf of the entire historical community of Fayette County, we would like to personally thank commissioners Angela Zimmerlink and Joseph Hardy for having the care and understanding to vote for a historic ordinance to be part of our new comprehensive land-use plan. This is the first time in modern history that this county has taken an official step to protect our historic assets.
Tourists from all over the world who visit here appreciate our wonderful attractions, not the weeds, junk cars and dilapidated buildings that unfortunately surround or affect so many of these sites. We hope this initial step will encourage more individuals and organizations to become involved. Your input is needed and is more than welcomed.
