We should applaud the job that our state police do on a daily basis.

Whatever you think of the shooting death of Michael Ellerbe, the fact remains that he took a vehicle that was not his and he ran, showing no respect for authority.

It bothers me to think that citizens found fault in the actions of the officers and rewarded the parents, who should be held responsible for their children.

The owner of the vehicle should sue the parents of the boy for damage to his property. I would pay to be on that jury and would award the vehicle owner, say, $28 million.
