The Monessen High School Class of 1960 will turn to "The Front Page" for an oldies dance and show Oct. 1 at Monessen Elks Lodge 773.

The Front Page vocal group's performances are dedicated to recreating the doo-wop sounds of the 1950s and early 1960s.

The dance, which is open to the public, will run from 8 p.m. to midnight. The event also will include a Chinese auction and door prizes. Admission is $15 per person and tables of 10 will be reserved. Tickets and additional information are available by calling either 724-684-7081 or 724-684-5345.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the MHS Class of 1860.

The Front Page comprises Clyde Pearsol, Bill Reichert and Tony Nicolazzo, all veteran musicians and singers.

Pearsol lives in Jeannette and is an original member and founder of The Front Page. He has worked as the drummer for Tony Ford and The Fairlanes and has appeared on television with the group numerous times. He also has opened for such performers at Johnny Paycheck, Ronnie Dove and Stella Parton and was road manager for The Vogues.

He sings many of the leads on the group's songs and also highlights its shows with his impressions of Elvis Presley, replete with a sparkling rhinestone costume, light-up sunglasses and styled hair.

Reichert is a resident of Butler, having moved there from Long Island. He traces his passion for group harmony and the oldies to the original shows of disc jockeys Allan Freed and Murray the K at the Brooklyn Fox and Paramount theaters.

He has performed with The Mystics ("Hushabye") and Vito Balsamo, former lead singer of Vito and the Salutations ("Gloria" and "Unchained Melody"); spent 12 years as lead singer of The Dedications, and worked five years as lead singer and second tenor with Pittsburgh's own Holidays.

Reichert's musical credits spanning a 40-year career also include three singles and six albums.

Nicolazzo, who makes his home in Monroeville, shows an entertainment career of 55 years playing and singing with notable bands and performing as a solo artist. He has appeared throughout the Pittsburgh and tri-state areas as well as in New York, California, Florida and Canada. He credits Bobby Darin and Englebert Humperdinck as his early influences.

Nicolazzo, who joined The Front Page in 2007, also was the keyboard player for The Holidays band.

One of the most requested songs of the group's shows is Nicolazza's rendition of "Cara Mia."
