Brock DeCicco and Justin Smith each scored 13, and Jimmy Giansante added 10 for Thomas Jefferson (11-1, 7-0), which has won seven consecutive games.
Bo Lustig scored a game-high 23 points for Belle Vernon (10-5, 4-3).
Franklin Regional 73, Plum 69 -- OT -- Nick Novak scored a team-high 26 points, with 10 field goals, to lead Franklin Regional to a 73-69 overtime victory against Plum in a WPIAL Section 2-AAAA boys basketball game Friday night.
Anthony VenBania scored 16 points, hitting two 3-pointers, to help spark the Panthers, who made seven 3-pointers.
Plum's Andrew Cressler tallied a career-high 38 points and sunk two free throws with 1.6 seconds left in the game, sending the contest into overtime.
With the win, Franklin Regional improved to 10-5 overall and 4-3 in the section, while Plum falls to 7-8, 3-4.
Chartiers Valley 92, Montour 52 -- No. 1 Chartiers Valley junior guard T.J. McConnell reached 1,000 career points with 30 in a Section 4-AAA game.
McConnell scored 15 points in the second quarter, as Chartiers Valley (13-0, 6-0) took a 64-26 halftime lead.
North Allegheny 57, Shaler 49 -- Nick Dvorsky scored 18 points, and Stephane Batton added 17 to help North Allegheny (9-4, 5-2) move into a first-place tie in Section 3-AAAA with Seneca Valley, which beat Central Catholic, 65-59.
J.T. Schwartz and Jesse Della Valle each had 13 points for Shaler (8-7, 4-3).
North Allegheny's defense forced 23 turnovers.
Peters Township 64, Baldwin 54 -- Class AAAA No. 1 Peters Township (13-1, 6-0) turned a close game into a comfortable Section 4 victory, as Craig Wolcott scored 14 of his game-high 19 points in the fourth quarter.
Justin Joyce scored 13 points for Baldwin (5-9, 1-6), which trailed, 40-39, at the end of the third quarter.
Upper St. Clair 73, Canon-McMillan 68 -- Pete Serio scored 25 points, and Christian Shea added 12 to help Upper St. Clair (10-4, 4-2) break a two-game losing streak in Section 4-AAAA.
Clairton 55, Serra Catholic 54 -- Desimon Green scored a game-high 21 points and visiting Clairton held off a fourth-quarter rally to upset Class A No. 1 Serra Catholic in a Section 3 game.
Andrew Currington added 14 points for Clairton (5-4, 5-0), which got a late start to the basketball season after its football team reached the PIAA title game.
T.J. Heatherington scored 19 points for Serra Catholic (12-2, 4-1).
Bethel Park 60, Ringgold 48 -- Dave Bassi (16 points) and Andrew Stine (11) combined for 27 points to lead Ringgold (3-12, 1-5) in a Section 4-AAAA loss to Bethel Park (7-8, 3-3).
Carmichaels 66, West Greene 17 -- Josh Green led all scorers with 25 points to help Carmichaels (12-3, 6-1) cruise past West Greene (0-15, 0-7). West Greene was outscored, 25-3, in the second quarter.
> Monessen 86, Frazier 44 -- Matt Wall and Jeff Francia each scored 12 points to help boost Monessen (8-6, 8-0) over Frazier (1-12, 0-8) in a Section 5-AA contest. Cam Johnson and Terrance Stepoli each added 11 points for the Greyhounds.
Penn Hills 76, Norwin 52 -- Dontae Brown's 20 points topped all scorers for Penn Hills (9-5), who battled back from a 14-8 first quarter deficit to claim a nonsection win over Norwin (5-9).
Ford City 54, Springdale 39 -- Matt Shanty (15 points), Luke Prazenica (13) and Joey Kutsch (12) led Ford City (11-5, 6-1) past Springdale (6-8, 4-3) in a Section 1-AA contest.
Uniontown 77, Derry 37 -- For Uniontown, 12 of 13 players scored to ignite the Red Raiders past Derry (1-13, 0-7) in Section 3-AAA contest. James Pratt and Arnold Walker each scored 10 points for Uniontown (12-3, 5-2).
Girls basketball
Shaler 75, North Allegheny 51 -- Olivia DiNucci scored 23 points, and Haley Fauer added 17 to lead Shaler (11-4, 5-2) to its seventh consecutive victory and a share of second place in Section 3-AAAA with North Allegheny (8-6, 5-2).
Alexis Aiken had 14 points for North Allegheny, which had its three-game winning streak snapped.
Chartiers Valley 55, Montour 38 -- Chartiers Valley's Lexy Herron hit 3-point shots at the end of the first and second quarters to change the momentum of the Section 4-AAA game. The first shot gave the Lady Colts a 13-12 lead; the second extended their halftime advantage to 27-20.
Montour (6-7, 2-5) scored only two points in the third quarter.
Erica Restich led Chartiers Valley (8-5, 4-3) with 13 points, and Herron added 10.
Diving
Two-time PIAA diving champion Samantha Pickens of Franklin Regional broke her meet record, winning the Westmoreland County Coaches Association girls diving championship at Derry.
Pickens, a junior who also won last year's WPIAL Class AAA diving title, took first with 523.3 points, followed by Kiski Area's Tori Brungo (434.95).
"I didn't even know that I had beaten my record, so it was a surprise to me," Pickens said.
Franklin Regional's Ryan Koter (469.7) won the boys title, and Derry's Nathan Kohuth (398) placed second.
Today's swimming championships begin at 10 a.m.
