The U.S. Embassy in Saudi Arabia was closed Monday in response to a terror threat.

The U.S. Embassy in Riyadh and its consulates in Jeddah and Dhahran will be closed for at least two days because of a threat to U.S. government buildings, according to a statement on the embassy's Web site.

While no specifics were given, Americans in Saudi Arabia were warned to exercise caution and remain alert to potential danger.
