There is only one way to salute the Steelers after their 40-point explosion against the Titans: "Dilly Dilly!"

On a night of big plays and major highlights during Pittsburgh's 40-17 win over Tennessee, perhaps the most innocuous snap of the entire game got the Steelers trending on social media.

Up 37-17 on a first-and-10 in the fourth quarter, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was picked up making a presnap call by network TV field microphones. Le'Veon Bell carried the ball for a simple 2-yard gain.

Roethlisberger could clearly be heard yelling: "Dilly Dilly!" That's a reference to the popular Bud Light commercial currently airing on national television.

Within minutes, Roethlisberger's audible became a Twitter sensation.

So in an effort to make my parents proud and have them realize that every dollar they burned putting me through journalism school was worth it, I spent much of the postgame interview session getting to the bottom of who put "Dilly Dilly!" into the offensive vernacular.

"That was one of Al (Villaneuva)'s creations," said David DeCastro.

So I went to the source.

"I'm not going to comment on the 'Dilly Dilly'," Villaneuva said. "I don't know what I'm allowed to say."

Allowed to say?! Al, you're a war hero. Of all people you should know, this isn't exactly a military secret you are protecting here.

It's all over Twitter. Take credit now. This is going to be big.

Trust me. As the kids say online, Roethlisberger's "Dilly Dilly" > Peyton Manning's "Omaha"

"Ok. I'll take credit for the 'Dilly Dilly'," Villaneuva said.

Well, now that we have cleared that up, here's to hoping the Green Bay Packers are the next team dispatched into Pit of Misery.

Cam's Christmas Sweater

Continuing with the theme of silly non-football-related matters that seem funny since your team won by 23, did anyone catch Cam Heyward's outfit?

His blinking-light up "Stranger Things" Christmas sweater was quite the talking point in the locker room after the game.

"What does that thing take, Cam? Double AA's or triple AAA's," DeCastro asked as he walked by Heyward's locker.

The answer from Heyward: "Those little circle watch-batteries."

Nice choice. Efficiency. Well played, Cam.

Jesse James was not being ignored

So far this season, we have already seen the Steelers join other NFL teams in celebrating touchdowns with playground games such as hide and seek, potato sack races, and duck-duck-goose.

Now add "monkey in the middle" to the list.

After Bell scored an apparent touchdown, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Antonio Brown played keep away with Bell, throwing the ball back and forth over his head in the end zone.

But the touchdown was overturned. So the Steelers had to try to score again. And they did. This time with Jesse James catching a 1-yard pass from Roethlisberger.

But no reenactment of the rundown game. Was poor Jesse being shunned and excluded in the schoolyard?

"Nah," Bell said. "Jesse's 6-7. He just would've taken the ball."

That's a fair point.

Skycam

Aside from the Steelers' putrid third-down offense in the first half — just 1-for-7 — the talk of the game early on seemed to be about the Skycam broadcast.

I asked for people's reaction on Twitter. And never have I seen such a wide ranging and sprawling response from on a topic:

• "I love it."

• "I hate it."

"OK. But too much."

" I want more."

• "I don't play video games, so I hate it."

• "I play video games, but I hate it."

• "I like it, but only when the Steelers are on offense."

• "I like it, but especially when the Steelers are on defense."

• "I quit watching because of it and I put on the Penguins game."

Aside from that everyone was in universal agreement, I guess.

My take away is that the Skycam experiment was a radical, jarring change. By nature, people hate change.

But not everyone completely hated Skycam right away.

Simply avoiding universal hatred and disapproval over something like this isn't a bad start. So maybe the NFL should at least consider using Skycam shots more often for live action, but perhaps just not for the whole broadcast.

So to Skycam, blinking sweaters, monkey-in-the-middle, 40-point outburst from a previously struggling offenses and a weekend off I simply say….

Dilly Dilly!
