Time Warner is the highest-ranking entertainment company on the new Forbes 2000 list of the world's biggest firms, The Hollywood Reporter said Thursday.
The paper said Time Warner came in at No. 51 on the list, which ranked companies based on revenue, profits, asset value and market value. Time Warner led the entertainment industry in all four metrics as of Feb. 28 -- with an asset value of $123.3 billion, $42.1 billion in revenue, $3.3 billion in profits and $79.1 billion in market value.
The Walt Disney Co. came in at No. 99 -- with a market value of $57.2 billion and asset value of $55.4 billion. The Reporter said those figures were below the respective figures for Comcast Corp., which ranked No. 131 -- but Disney's financial performance was stronger.
