Human error is blamed for a Glasgow, Scotland, cancer center giving a teenage patient a potentially fatal overdose of radiation, a report said Wednesday.

Lisa Norris, 15, was given too much radiation in each of her 17 sessions of brain cancer treatment at the Beatson Oncology Center.

Doctors warned the girl's family the results could be deadly.

"We will do everything in our power to support both them and their daughter in the challenges ahead," Alan Rodger, medical director at the center, told Sky News.

"Doctors say at best she could land up in a wheelchair or be paralyzed, but at worst this could be fatal," father Ken Norris told the broadcaster.

"If they can do this to Lisa, they can do this to anyone," the girl's father said.
