A South Korean translator says his 30,000 hours of volunteer translating should be recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records. The Korea Times reports that volunteer translator Lee Hay-young has translated 30,000 hours in the past 30 years and will register his name with Guinness. Most of Hay-young’s 30,000 hours has been confirmed by the Korea Record Institute. Hay-young has volunteered for foreign guests as well as for the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul and the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup. Hay-young says he’s got at least 10 years of volunteering in him still. © Copyright 2005 by United Press International
