Passavant Memorial Homes has become the focus of a witch hunt for the Tribune-Review directed toward our reputable CEO and agency.

Articles continuously imply the misuse of funding. Passavant disputes Allegheny County Controller Dan Onorato's findings and recommendations. The audit report is based on numerous inaccuracies and misrepresentations. Additionally, the controller removed a total of 122 pages of our response prior to making it available to the general public. The controller cited a lack of resources as the reason that he removed the critical information that rebuts his erroneous position on our Workers and Unemployment Compensation funds. Now the controller is incorrectly informing the public that Passavant is in a state of financial distress — something that was never in the final audit.

The recent Tribune-Review article conjoins the controller's erroneous position. What is the "real reason" for this media and now political attack of our fine agency• Possibly to cause unrest and stress to the families, staff and individuals whom we are privileged to serve• What we are sure of is that there is no legitimate issue regarding the financial stability of Passavant.

The public, the individuals we serve, their families, our employees and our supporters deserve to know the truth. However, they are not getting it from the Tribune-Review or the controller.

Mr. Onorato, share the Passavant documents that you removed and tell the truth to the general public, which elected you to your office. Tribune-Review, stop your unsubstantiated attacks. Isn't this getting old?
