While I didn't make it through an entire workday without needing to reapply my Brandy Twist Long Last Glosswear, I was relatively impressed with the product. During a two-and-a-half to three-hour span of no eating or drinking, Clinique lived up to its claim. My color stayed vibrant and glossy. At about the three-hour mark, though, my usual dryness reared its ugly head. I also started to get that "cakey" feeling, a sign another application of the gloss was in sight. After lunch and another application, I was again pleased to find it would last another three hours or so -- even through a bottle of water during the middle of the afternoon. Two applications during a workday really isn't that bad. The only faults I found were that the gloss doesn't stay well through eating -- I honestly didn't expect it to -- and the so-called "seal" was a little too glossy for me. While I didn't notice any bleeding of color or creeping past my lip line, the abundance of gloss made it feel that way. My fix: apply a thin liner first to help hold the gloss in place a little better.

As a gal on the go, the idea of a long-lasting lip gloss is more than appealing. So when Clinique's new Long Last Glosswear promised a high shine and a "seal" that would hold the gloss to my lips, I figured no more sticky mugs or glasses. My lips felt thick and sticky, even two hours after application. The long-lasting portion of Clinique's promise was more than what was expected. After dinner and several bottles of water at a Penguins game, the gloss still was leaving its mark on my boyfriend's cheek at the end of the game. The Clearly Pink tone was barely enough to show a pinch of color to my lips; yet, it blazed clearly on every glass I drank from for about 8 hours. If you're looking for a gloss that will keep your lips soft and moist, this is for you. If you plan on taking a drink or sharing a good-night kiss, it will definitely leave something behind.

I'm not a huge fan of most lip gloss. I don't care for that super shiny look that makes me feel my lips are in the spotlight. Clinique's new gloss offers a subtle color -- tryout shade was Tenderheart from the violet palette. While slightly tacky on application as most glosses are, the color and moderate gloss lasted several hours and made my scratchy winter lips feel luxuriously moisturized even longer. The Clinique gloss is worth it for that aspect alone. I also enjoyed having protection from the Florida sun that reddened my skin -- ouch! -- on a recent trip. For the workday, I found using a lip liner -- which tends to be drying -- under the gloss to be the perfect balance of color and shine.
