S weet dreams are better when your head hits the pillow and you detect a light, pleasant scent on the pillowcase and sheets as you snuggle in for the night.
I'm happy to report that's what I found when I tossed in a capful of Downy Unstopables Dreams in-wash scent beads with a lavender scent. Procter & Gamble claims the scent will last for 12 weeks in storage. I haven't gone that long with my sheets in the closet, but I do know my towels in the linen closet are fresh-smelling and light even from the bottom of the pile.
I enjoy lavender in light touches, but it can really be overwhelming if overdone. I am no stranger to scent beads for my wash, and this Sweet Dreams version is my current favorite. Even my hubby agreed it was a nice scent.
S o, Tide now has a detergent that it claims can help you sleep better.
Yes, let that sink in for a moment. Tide is making sleep aids. Or not.
When it comes to Tide plus A touch of Downy Sweet Dreams detergent, the pitch claims that the detergent has ingredients that clean, soften and freshen bedtime fabrics to help create a relaxing environment.
So, the sheets were soft and smelled nice and all that good stuff. But I still didn't sleep. I wasn't floating on clouds or lost in slumber like I'd hoped.
Not that I actually believed that the detergent would make me sleep better. But still, one can dream. Well, not really.
I s there a better feeling than crawling into a comfy bed after a long day? After trying out Downy Infusions Sweet Dreams, I learned the answer is: Yes.
Adding a splash of the fabric softener to a load of sheets, pillowcases and pajamas created an even cozier feeling to falling asleep the first night I tried it.
The scent of lavender with a hint of vanilla and cedar was soothing and somewhat made up for the fact that it's been too cold to open windows at night. It also made my bedding supersoft. Drifting off to dreamland was no problem.
My only complaint is that the scent doesn't last long. Granted, on my first night using Downy Infusions, I went to bed right after putting the newly washed sheets on, so the fresh-from-the-dryer coziness was in full effect. But I was disappointed the next night when I could just barely detect the scent.
