The Geyer Theater Board of Directors, Geyer Performing Arts Center in Scottdale, hired Kristen Tunney as the new theater manager at their regular Board of Directors meeting held on March 30.
Tunney is a Pennsylvania State University graduate with a B.A. in Film/Video and a Thesis in Media Studies. She has been actively involved in community theatre since 2001 and has performed in more than 40 productions. Tunney has performed at the Geyer since the theater was known as "Showtime." She will appear at the Geyer in two upcoming musicals: "Little Women" and "The Music Man."
Tunney said, "From my childhood, my passion and energy for community theatre has only increased, and I will love working at the theater to help the board develop the community theater venue in Scottdale."
The Board of Directors is "very pleased to hire this highly talented and well-qualified applicant who is very enthusiastic and excited about working as theater manager."
Tunney has been volunteering at the theater for several years and her employment is effective immediately.
The board expects to have a long and rewarding relationship with Tunney.
