Two Crips members sentenced in racketeering case

Two members of the Northview Heights/Fineview Crips were sentenced to prison Wednesday for their gang activity, while a third pleaded guilty to federal racketeering charges.

U.S. District Judge Gustave Diamond sentenced Michael "Swade" Wade, 25, to five years and 10 months and Michael "Henne" Henson, 29, to nine years and two months. Wade and Henson pleaded guilty in February to participating in a racketeering conspiracy.

Nicklas "GK" Gay, 23, pleaded guilty to the same charge. He is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 7.

The men are among 26 people charged because of their involvement in a gang that operates out of the Northview Heights public housing facility n the North Side and in the nearby Fineview neighborhood.

Prosecutors said the gang was involved in armed robberies, attempted murders, drug trafficking, obstruction of justice and witness intimidation.
