Police investigate the scene of a shooting along Otillia Way and Parkwood Road in Mt. Oliver on Monday afternoon, July 8, 2013.
Allegheny County police are investigating a double shooting on Monday afternoon in Mt. Oliver Borough.

Officers and neighbors said the shooting occurred shortly after noon near the intersection of Otillia Street and Parkwood Road, on the border of Mt. Oliver Borough and the Pittsburgh neighborhood of the same name. Pittsburgh EMS officials said one shooting victim went by ambulance to UPMC Presbyterian; the other went by private car to UPMC Mercy. Both suffered multiple gunshot wounds but were in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

Jennifer King, 36, said she was on her back porch on Penn Avenue when she heard gunfire, ran inside and saw one man through her window firing a shot as he ran up the street.

Her boyfriend, Nathan Bell, 38, said a vehicle picked up one victim while the other man ran around the corner toward Raton and St. Joseph streets, on the Pittsburgh side of the border. A bloody T-shirt was on the steps of the house where first responders found the victim, and detectives were searching the area for other evidence.

Raynetta Galloway, 62, said a bullet appeared to hit the house she shares with her niece and nephew. Bullet casings were scattered in the street across from her front door.

“I heard the bullet hit right outside my room,” she said. “Look how many kids are up here; people shouldn’t be shooting.”
