Ambridge police said today that it's a miracle that two men survived being shot in the forehead at close range with a 9 mm semiautomatic handgun on Rice Avenue shortly before 11 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said Richard Joseph Lubic Jr., 28, of Rice Avenue, shot Joseph P. Goda, 39, of Munhall, when Goda came to help Lubic's neighbor, Edwin McCoy, 41. Police said Lubic and McCoy had been feuding for some time. Police said McCoy and Goda were both shot above the left eye, but the bullets bounced off their skulls.

McCoy and Goda were taken by ambulance to Allegheny General Hospital, but no information on their conditions was available. Lubic is in the Beaver County Jail and charged with two counts each of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, recklessly endangerment and simple assault.
