The township will soon be home to two new businesses.
Advance Auto Parts and Dollar General Store have applied for permits to build their stores at 1712 Broadview Blvd. -- the former location of Bouchat Buick Co. -- according to Bruce Graff, who dispenses building permits for the township.
Graff said the permits are likely to be approved, but there is no real timetable for their consideration.
Shelly Whitaker, a spokeswoman for Advance Auto Parts, said the company expects to have the store open by the end of August.
Representatives for Dollar General did not return phone calls for comment.
Dollar General's blueprints got approval from the township's zoning board in March. The company had to receive a special variance from the township because the new store would lack about 50 parking spots.
The amount of parking spots a business needs are dictated by the square footage of the building, according to township code.
Blueprints presented to the township in March showed that the one-acre lot will be split equally in two. The section closest to Dallas Avenue will be where Dollar General is and the section closest to Pacific Avenue will be the future home of Advance Auto Parts.
The sale of the property, to Sea Mountain Ventures, was finalized earlier this month, for $650,000.
Sea Mountain Ventures is a company that buys properties for companies and then assumes the responsibility for their upkeep.
