The U.S. intelligence community can not agree on the size of the Sunni insurgency in Iraq, the Middle East Newsline reported.

Government officials said intelligence agencies have offered differing estimates of the size of the Sunni insurgency. However, the entire community has agreed that the insurgency grew significantly in 2004.

The Defense Intelligence Agency, part of the Defense Department, has continually provided much larger estimates than those of the CIA.
