The U.S. State Department Wednesday noted "aggressive" behavior by some DynCorp contractors hired to protect Afghan President Hamid Karzai.

"We have seen these reports, and from time to time have heard reports of aggressive behavior by some of the contractors," department spokesman Richard Boucher said, adding the issue had been raised with contractors on the ground, as well as with DynCorp management.

Contractors from the Texas-based company assist the State Department's Bureau of Diplomatic Security in providing security to Karzai.

The comments follow a New York Times report that cited reports of aggressive behavior by the contractors. Boucher added the overall job done by the company was excellent.
