U.S. hostage Tom Fox, one of a foursome from Christian Peacemaker Teams kidnapped in Iraq, was found in a Baghdad neighborhood with a bullet in his head.

CNN reports Fox's body showed signs of torture as well.

The 54-year-old from Clear Brook, Va., was taken Nov. 26 along with three Canadian members of the group.

The three surviving members were featured on a video broadcast Tuesday on Al-Jazeera, the Arab satellite television network.

Fox was an opponent of the war in Iraq.

The U.S. State Department spokesman Noel Clay said further forensic testing would take place to make sure the body was Fox but conveyed condolences to his family.
