Uber raises fares in Pittsburgh 10 percent

Uber is raising prices for its rides in Pittsburgh by 10 percent, it announced to users on Thursday afternoon.

The company has previously lowered fares, which are calculated with a per-minute and per-mile formula, but said it would increase them if drivers weren't taking home more earnings.

Base fares are now set at $1.30, according to the website. Per-mile charges are $1.05 and per-minute charges are 15 cents.
