My wife and I would like to move back to the Pittsburgh area, where we previously lived for many years. However, there is a bit of a problem that makes us hesitant to make the move. Here in north suburban Philadelphia (Bucks County), we live in a very nice “over 55 active adult” community. There are many such communities in this area. In fact, there are many in most of the major metropolitan areas of the country. Unfortunately, the Pittsburgh area has none. (I do not mean “assisted living” communities such as St. Barnabas.) This is very disappointing. Allegheny County has surpassed Miami-Dade County in Florida for the number of senior citizens. Obviously, there is a market there, especially now that the “baby boomers” are starting to retire. It is apparent the building industry in the Pittsburgh area is “behind the times” and the growing number of senior citizens is really not being well served. I would hope that an enterprising builder/developer would fill this void. I and many of my fellow seniors would be grateful. Clark McFall Warminster
