A Uniontown police detective was arrested Monday on a domestic violence complaint. According to state police Sgt. Charles Depp, Detective Phillip Jones was arrested ‘for domestic violence.’ Paperwork setting forth the reasons for the charges could not be obtained Tuesday. But the Tribune-Review was able to confirm that Jones was arraigned by Belle Vernon District Justice Jesse J. Cramer at about 4 a.m. Monday on two counts each of simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct. Cramer set bond at $1,500 unsecured. Jones, 34, of 850 Walnut Hill Road, Uniontown, also is the part-time police chief of Fairchance borough. The case has been transferred to Fairchance District Justice Randy Abraham Uniontown Mayor James Sileo said no disciplinary action has yet been taken against Jones. ‘Right now, it’s in the hands of the state police. I’m waiting to see a report. Until I get the report, I’m not going to do anything,’ said Sileo.
