Unique home decor items, designer clothing, lamps, artwork and more are available at Encore Emporium, an upscale resale/consignment shop located at 119 S. Market Street.

Owners Vicki Egleston of Ligonier and Donna Detar of Irwin recently opened the boutique that will carry both new and consignment items.

“We are never the same place twice,” Egleston said. “There is definitely something for everybody.”

The two, who have been friends for more than 20 years, said they obtain items for sale online, through consignment or, in the case of jewelry, they have traveled out of state to shows and auctions.

“It's really just about whatever catches our eye,” Detar said. “Right now we have some beautiful Lennox crystal and Tiffany lamps. We like to stick to the higher end items.”

New and gently used decorative accessories such as oriental rugs, china, furniture and antiques will be considered for consignment. Consignors will receive 50 percent of the sold price for their items.

Additionally, name brand clothing, handbags, wallets and scarves are on the list of items that may be sold at Encore Emporium.

The shop currently has more than 260 consignors.

“I decided it was time to venture out on a new endeavor; a ‘unique boutique' type of experience — a place where I could combine two of my favorite interests — home decor and ladies fashion,” Egleston said. Beautifully crafted silk flower bouquets and arrangements are on display and for sale in the shop, along with a line of soaps and lotions from a distributor.

“I love the variety in the store,” said Beverly Formato, who recently visited Encore Emporium. “There are so many things to look at and the prices are great. Vicki and Donna are very helpful and welcome you in and make your shopping experience fun. I travel to Ligonier a couple times a month from Harrison City and Encore Emporium is the first place I stop. I recommend the store highly.”

Future plans for the shop include the addition of gift baskets around the holidays and possibly hand painted furniture, according to Detar.

While the shop officially opened to the Ligonier community in April, it was just last week that the ribbon cutting ceremony took place.

“Encore Emporium is a wonderful addition to our town,” said Anna Weltz, executive director of the Ligonier Chamber of Commerce, who participated in the ceremony. “There are some really great, unique offerings here.”

Shop hours are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday – Saturday and 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Sundays.

“Ligonier is such a nice community,” said Detar. “We're very happy to be here.”
