An Upper St. Clair man claims in a federal lawsuit filed Thursday that Allegheny County Jail guards beat him, broke his arm and then denied him medical treatment on Sept. 4, 2010.

John Pardini, 44, claims in the lawsuit that two guards, identified only by last name, assaulted him and fractured his right elbow and a third employee, identified only as John Doe, pretended to be medical staff and told him his arm was fine.

He didn’t receive medical attention until he was released the next day and went to an emergency room, Pardini says in the lawsuit.

Pardini is suing the county, former jail warden Ramon Rustin and the three guards. County solicitor Andrew Szefi couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
