Section of Lower Burrell road to close Monday for sewer line replacement
A section of Delberta Road in Lower Burrell will be closed on Monday so the city’s Street Department can replace a storm sewer line.
The work will take place from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. in front of 304 Delberta Rd., which is at the border of Lower Burrell and Upper Burrell.
Public Works Foreman Scott Johnson said the road on either side of the project will be accessible to traffic, but is asking residents to plan their routes ahead of time and adjust to the closure accordingly. Plates that can span the ditch line will be on site in case emergency vehicles need to use the road, he said.
The department will also pave the project area. That work is scheduled for Tuesday, according to a post on the city’s Facebook page.
“We will begin near 7 a.m. and should be finishing with the pipe installation portion of the project by 1 p.m.,” Johnson wrote in an e-mail. “If we do not have the road restoration completed, we will return on Tuesday or Wednesday to finish the road restoration, weather dependent.”
