Mazziotti Bakery has been at its new location on Leechburg Road in Lower Burrell nearly a year. Known for its freshly-baked bread, current owner Carlo Cimino has expanded the offerings to include cakes, cookies, pies and Italian specialties. The bread and sweet treats are still homemade in Arnold, the town where Nicola and Carmella Mazziotti founded the business in 1958.
Mazziotti Bakery in Lower Burrell is known for freshly baked bread, cookies, cakes and pies. Every morning owner Carlo Cimino travels from Arnold where the sweet treats are made to the store on Leechburg Road. The 2-pound loaves of bread are the top seller, and have been since the bakery was founded in 1958 by Nicola and Carmella Mazziotti.
While continuing the tradition of freshly baked bread using the Mazziotti's famous recipe, Cimino has expanded the bakery to include cakes and cupcakes with homemade butter cream icing — a specialty of former owners and current bakers Carolyn and Bob Piskor. For full story, go here .
