Wal-Mart looks at ways to fix DVD problem
Wal-Mart is reportedly considering in-store kiosks allowing customers to use digital technology to download films on to portable discs.
Wal-Mart has been talking with Hollywood studios about the plan, citing recent criticism that a shortage of space in its stores is causing a slowdown in DVD sales, the Financial Times reported Monday.
While helping to increase home entertainment sales figures, the kiosks could benefit Hollywood by lowering the studio's shipping costs and the expense of returned inventory, the Times said.
