An actor in town for the filming of the movie "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" was arraigned on Friday on a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana for personal use.

Ezra Matthew Miller, 18, of Hoboken, N.J., was accused of having marijuana on Wednesday in Peters, state court records show. Township police filed the charge yesterday.

Miller was arraigned before District Judge James C. Ellis and released on his own recognizance to await a preliminary hearing scheduled for Tuesday.

Stephen Chbosky, a native of Upper St. Clair, wrote the book, adapted it into a screenplay and is directing the movie, which is being filmed in Peters and elsewhere.

According to The Internet Movie Database, Miller has appeared in the movie "City Island," and on television programs such as "Californication" and "Law & Order."
