Pitt football coach Dave Wannstedt announced Tuesday the suspensions of three football players for the remainder of spring drills.
Senior cornerback Aaron Berry, senior defensive tackle Tommie Duhart and sophomore offensive lineman Wayne Jones were suspended for unrelated incidents that resulted in violation of team policy.
It marked the fourth suspension of the spring, as senior receiver T.J. Porter also was suspended indefinitely earlier last month after being arrested for driving under the influence for the second time in the span of a year.
"I would hope that every player understands the importance of what we're doing here and, more importantly, how we're going to do things," Pitt coach Dave Wannstedt said. "As I've always said, there's no such thing as life in the middle as a Pitt Panther. You're either on board or you're not."
Football festival
The annual Blue-Gold Game, to be played at 2 p.m. at Heinz Field, will be preceded by the Pitt spring football festival.
The event will start at 12:30 p.m. and includes a chalk-talk session for 20 minutes each with Wannstedt, offensive coordinator Frank Cignetti and defensive coordinator Phil Bennett in the East Club along with a youth clinic featuring Panthers players serving as instructors on the playing field.
A handful of Pitt alums and current NFL players - H.B. Blades, Jeff Otah, Darrelle Revis and Clint Session - will sign autographs at the South Plaza. Fans can enter Gate A starting at noon and report to the South Plaza. Admission is free. Parking is $5 in Gold lots 1 and 2.
