WCCC to host culinary tour of Spain

Westmoreland County Community College is sponsoring a culinary study tour of Spain June 16-25.

Hosted by Mary B. Zappone, professor of culinary arts and hospitality programs, the tour will visit Barcelona and Madrid. Highlights include a Spanish cooking class, a chocolate cooking class, city tours and a visit to the largest market hall in Barcelona, La Boqueria, for a tasting of cheeses, Spanish hams and other Spanish products.

The tour is open to anyone with an interest in Spanish cuisine. Hospitality students can earn three credits for their participation in the tour's culinary activities by registering for the college's Hospitality Study Tour course during the summer session.

The tour cost is $3,095 per person, double occupancy, based on a minimum of 30 passengers. The cost includes air and motor coach transportation, some meals, travel insurance and other amenities. A limited number of single occupancy rooms are available for the supplement of $600.
