CHARLEROI - Charleroi American Legion's baseballers are scheduled at California today at 4 p.m. in a make-up gane after rain stopped Friday's contest with visiting Colonial. Trailing 4-3, Charleroi had the bases loaded with one out in the third inning when inclement weather stopped the contest. Colonial jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning despite getting only one hit. Jason Cypher hit the leadoff batter and walked the next two batters to load the bases before Matt Rechichar's ground-rule double ended up being a disputed grand slam Cypher then struck out the next three batters. Charleroi came back with three runs in the third. Frank McLaughlin opened with a single and moved to third on Derek DiPiazza's double. McLaughlin, however, was caught on a rundown at third base on Cypher's infield grounder. Charlie Fritch singled in Charleroi's first run. After Joe Cappelli was hit by a pitch, Gino DeRosa came through with a two-run single before rain halted the contest. Trevor Consavage is scheduled to pitch for Charleroi today.
