Connellsville Area (1-3, 0-2) at Norwin (1-3, 1-2)

When: 1:30 p.m., Saturday Where: Norwin Stadium Coaches: Connellsville Area — Andy Robertson. Norwin — Dan Conwell. Key players: Connellsville Area — RB Scott Jones, WR Terrence McCrae, LB Zach Blackstone. Norwin — QB J.T. Redshaw, TE Sean McMichael, WR Rege Flowers. Last week’s results: Pittsburgh Central Catholic 27, Connellsville Area 6; Woodland Hills 33, Norwin 10. Last year’s score: Norwin 37, Connellsville Area 0. The skinny: The Falcons are trying to regain the form they had when they were a power in the Quad A. Norwin, which defeated Hempfield Area, is almost assured a playoff berth if it wins. Only two teams in the Quad East Conference will not make the playoffs. Derry Area (2-2, 1-1) at Belle Vernon Area (3-1, 2-0) When: 7:30 p.m., Friday Where: James Weir Stadium. Coaches: Derry Area — Jim Paul. Belle Vernon Area — Jesse Cramer. Key players: Derry Area — RB Nathan George, LB Jeff Slezak, WR Matt Clayton. Belle Vernon Area — RB C.J. Bell, RB Matt Perry, T Jordan Yonkers. Last week’s results: Derry Area 10, Albert Gallatin 7; Belle Vernon Area 6, Laurel Highlands 0. Last year’s score: Belle Vernon Area 18, Derry Area 7. The skinny: The Trojans ended a two-game losing streak with a victory against Albert Gallatin. Belle Vernon was able to squeeze out a victory against Laurel Highlands. Running back Mike Jurcevich is the team’s leading rusher with 350 yards and three touchdowns. Greensburg Central Catholic (4-0, 2-0) at Washington (2-2, 1-1) When: 7 p.m., Saturday Where: Washington Stadium Coaches: GCC — Muzzy Colosimo. Washington — Bill Britton. Key players: GCC — WR Jon Garner, QB John Rahl, LB Colin Trenk. Washington — LB Richard Barnes, QB Zack Zebrasky, LB Kyle Winters. Last week’s results: GCC 49, Brownsville Area 0; Washington 21, Southmoreland 12. Last year’s score: GCC 35, Washington 6. The skinny: This game was moved to Saturday to give the Prexies an extra day to prepare. The Centurions have a trio of running backs and a rugged offensive line. The Prexies will counter with speed and quickness. Jefferson-Morgan (3-1, 2-0) at Frazier (2-2, 1-1) When: 7:30 p.m., Friday Where: Frazier Field Coaches: Jefferson-Morgan — Jan Haiden. Frazier — Larry Wilson. Key players: Jefferson-Morgan — QB Josh Lawrence, RB Dave Basinger, T Bryan Hutchinson. Frazier — QB Tony Battaglini, WR Steven Erdely, FB Ryan Keebler. Last week’s results: Jefferson-Morgan 22, Mapletown 9; Frazier 21, California Area 13. Last year’s score: Jefferson-Morgan 6, Frazier 0. The skinny: The Commodores took a step forward with a big victory on the road. Can they defuse the Rockets• Jefferson-Morgan could easily be undefeated. The Rockets, who have won three consecutive games, lost to Beth-Center on a last-second field goal. United (3-0) at Blairsville (3-0) When: 7 p.m., Friday Where: Memorial Stadium Coaches: United — Chris Matava. Blairsville — Ab Dettorre. Key players: United — QB Chuck Boring, RB Adam Mack, WR Kurt McGinnis. Blairsville — RB Nick Stone, RB Matt Strope, QB Adam Highberger. Last week’s results: United 25, Penns Manor Area 0; Blairsville 24, Northern Cambria 6. Last year’s score: Blairsville 23, United 0. The skinny: United comes in with the third best defense in District 6, but Blairsville has Strope and Stone, who each have scored four times this season. Strope is coming off a 124-yard game when the Bobcats played Northern Cambria in the rain Friday. Blairsville is also undefeated at home in the past 12 regular-season home games.
