We're not dysfunctional
Reading Mike Yeomans' article concerning Dawar Technologies leaves me very skeptical about how your newspaper reports on local successful entrepreneurial companies (" Investors battle ghosts of tech company's past ," Sept. 5).
I was surprised and dismayed that you would describe a company that has existed for more than 100 years as "dysfunctional." Dawar has an excellent work force and team of employees, many with long service, who have worked with executives in developing new products, efficient means of production and tolerance and expectations that meet the highest standards in the industry.
Yes, certain executives and employees have left Dawar to strike out on their own. So have many people left Microsoft to start new businesses. Larry Ellison started Oracle as a result of great training at his former company.
"Dysfunctional!" Is that the phrase that should define an excellent team of professional workers who dedicate themselves to higher standards and who provide a stimulus for entrepreneurial spirit and endeavor⢠I think not.
The writer is chairman of the board of Dawar Technologies.
