West Newton festival this weekend

The 24th annual West Newton Community Festival featuring foods, crafts, games, entertainment and more starts Friday and runs through Sunday.

The event kicks off 5 p.m. Friday at the West Newton Vine Street Park Area, Fourth and Fifth streets.

The festival will close 11 p.m. Friday, run from noon to 11 p.m. Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.

The schedule of events follows:

Friday - 5 to 11 p.m., foods, games, crafts, flea market, Civil War Encampment and children's activities; 5 to 8 p.m., DJ Music by Johnny Q; 7 to 8 p.m., performance Martial Arts & Fitness at Center Court Stage; 8 to 11 p.m., Music by Girlz In Black Hats; 10 p.m., announcement of the 50/50 drawing for Friday's ticket.

Saturday - noon to 11 p.m., foods, games, crafts, flea market, Civil War Encampment and children's activities; noon to dusk, pony rides on festival grounds; noon to 7 p.m., beautiful baby contest on festival grounds; noon, opening ceremonies on stage (stage sponsored by National City Bank); noon, festival parade on Vine Street; 1 to 2 p.m., performance by Rock-n-Rolls Cheerleaders at stage area; 2 p.m., organ recital at Christ Lutheran Church; 1 to 3 p.m., Coolest Motorcycle and Scooter Show on festival grounds; 2 to 3 p.m., All Wheels Parade on Vine Street sponsored by West Newton Bicycle Shop; 3 to 4 p.m., performance by Keystone West Dance Team at stage area; 4 to 5:30 p.m., performance by Stage Right on stage; 5:30 to 6 p.m., Merrie the Clown performs at stage area; 6 to 7 p.m., performance by Company G Dance Team at stage area; 7 to 8 p.m., performance by Rostraver Dance Academy" at stage area; 8 p.m., presentation of the beautiful baby contest award winners; 8 to 11 p.m., music by Nomad on stage; 10 p.m., announcement of the 50/50 drawing for Saturday's ticket.

Sunday - 8:15 to 9 a.m., community prayer service on stage; noon to 6 p.m., foods, games, crafts, flea market, Civil War Encampment and children's activities; noon to 2:30 p.m., Kid's Fest on festival grounds; noon to dusk, children's petting zoo on festival grounds; 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., pet parade on Vine Street sponsored by Hope Veterinary Hospital; 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., performance by Keystone West Dance Team at stage area; 2:30 to 6 p.m., West Newton Community Festival Pageant.
