Kellie Lynch, Emily Indof and Maddie Gall scored as Greensburg Salem locked up a playoff berth with a 3-1 victory at Laurel Highlands in a Section 3-AA girls soccer game Monday night.

The Golden Lions improved to 8-7-1 overall and 7-4 in section play.

Brynn Lilley scored for Laurel Highlands (6-6-2, 5-4-1), which stayed in fourth place in Section 3.

Hempfield 3, Connellsville 1 — Sam Orie, Caroline Czarneki and Sabrina Pettinato scored to lead Hempfield (4-7-1, 3-5-1) to a Section 2-AAAA win.

Norwin 4, Kiski Area 0 — Emily Harrigan and Alexa Kollano each scored two goals as No. 1 Norwin (14-0-1, 8-0-1) defeated Kiski Area (6-6-2, 5-3-1) in Section 4-AAAA.

Penn-Trafford 4, Latrobe 0 — Jordan Lawrence scored two goals as No. 4 Penn-Trafford (13-1-1, 7-1-1) blanked Latrobe (1-10-1, 0-9) in a Section 4-AAAA game.

Hampton 3, Franklin Regional 2 — Lanie McLaughlin scored the game-winner late in the second half to lead Hampton (7-6-1, 6-3-1) over Franklin Regional (11-3-1, 9-1-1) in Section 1-AAA.

Derry 6, McGuffey 0 — Kara McDonald and Grace Hackman each scored twice as Derry (9-5-1, 6-4-1) shut out McGuffey (4-9, 2-8) in Section 2-AA.

Serra Catholic 6, Jeannette 0 — Maddie Carr scored four goals as Serra Catholic (8-5-1, 4-4-1) shut out Jeannette (3-11, 2-8) in a Section 1-A matchup.

Boys soccer

Franklin Regional 2, Fox Chapel 1 — Moshe Simpson scored twice to help Franklin Regional (8-6) tally a nonsection victory.

Girls golf

At the WPIAL Class AAA girls golf semifinals at Murrysville Golf Club, Cassey Morrow shot 77 to lead Shady Side Academy to a first-place finish in the eight-team event.

The Indians finished with 331 strokes and advanced to Thursday's WPIAL championship at Cedarbrook Golf Course along with North Allegheny (345), Peters Township (372) and Butler (384). Upper St. Clair (385), Penn-Trafford (389), Pine-Richland (420) and Norwin (421) rounded out the competition.

Pine-Richland's Lauren Freyvogel was the medalist after shooting 76.

Girls tennis

Norwin's Maria Santilli and Hempfield's Maura Sackett will play for the Section 1-AAA singles title Tuesday afternoon after semifinals victories Monday at Franklin Regional. Santilli defeated Hempfield's Annie Iezzi, 6-0, 6-0, and Sackett won 7-6(5), 6-0 over Franklin Regional's Alison Simpkins.

• At the Section 1-AA tournament, Southmoreland's Kate Walch will face South Park's Holly Barwatt after each won in straight sets in the semifinals.

• Derry's Katie Enos earned a spot in the WPIAL Class AA singles tournament Monday by reaching the Section 3 semifinals, where she lost to Indiana's Kelsey Heckert, 6-2, 6-0. It's the third straight year a Derry player qualified.
