Greensburg man arrested in sex sting gets prison time
A Greensburg man was ordered Friday to serve up to nearly two years in jail for attempting to lure a teenage boy to a Hempfield location for sex last summer.
Harold B. Enriquez, 33, pleaded guilty in December to charges of unlawful contact with a minor, attempted involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault of a child and child pornography.
His arrest came as part of a sex sting by investigators with the state Attorney General's office in which three Westmoreland County men are charged with attempting to meet teens for sex.
Westmoreland County Common Pleas Judge Meagan Bilik-DeFazio sentenced Enriquez to serve one year, less a day, to two years less a day in jail and then seven years on intensive probation.
Enriquez was given credit for the time served since his arrest June 27. He will be eligible for parole in about two months.
“I apologize to the commonwealth for the crimes I've been convicted of,” Enriquez said.
According to court records, investigators said Enriquez messaged a person he believed to be a 14-year-old boy on a popular social networking smartphone application. Police did not name the app.
Police said Enriquez asked the boy for explicit photographs and requested he perform a sex act. He was arrested when he arrived at a location in Hempfield to meet with the boy.
Brian Oliver Zupancic, 28, of Jeannette was charged with similar offenses. Investigators claim he solicited a boy for a sex act through messages and also agreed to meet him at a Hempfield location. Zupancic was arrested five hours after Enriquez.
The case against Zupancic, who is free on $50,000 bail, is still pending.
A third man, Timothy Michael Myers , 33, of Unity was arrested two days later as part of the same sting.
Police said Myers allegedly solicited a boy for sex acts and arrived at a Hempfield hotel with two condoms just before 6 p.m. when he was arrested.
Myers is free on $50,000 bail and is scheduled to appear before Bilik-DeFazio for trial May 7.
