South Greensburg Police arrest man on drug charges
A Philadelphia man was arrested Tuesday night after allegedly selling marijuana to a person staying at a South Greensburg hotel.
Information from a confidential informant led borough police to pull over a car in Greensburg that had briefly stopped at 7 p.m. outside the Knights Inn, according to an affidavit of probable cause.
Thomas Lee Williams, 34, was a passenger in the car and police said they seized $685 and five prescription pills from his pockets after Greensburg K-9 officer Falco indicated that there were narcotics in the vehicle. A person staying at the motel told investigators that Williams sold him a gram of marijuana, according to court papers.
Williams is being held in the Westmoreland County Prison on $50,000 bail on drug delivery and possession charges.
A preliminary hearing is set for Tuesday. Williams didn’t have an attorney listed in online court records.
